The recently estrablished South Asia Foresight Network Node (SAFN) of The Millennium Project issued the first volume of a new SAFN Monographic series with the purpose of highlighting a challenge faced by a South Asian country in every volume and of developing recommendations to address the challenge while looking at the future vulnerabilities and threats to the environment and the society.
The first volume, “The baneful existence of Chinese sea cucumber farms in Sri Lanka“ by Asanga Abeyagoonasekera (SAFN and Sri Lanka Node Chair), focuses on the marine eco system and on how to preserve the marine life thinking of future generations. We learn the importance of marine animals, the role and how human interactions can alter the delicate marine eco system.
